Sikkim gets ready to make money

Apart from its virgin forests, elevated mountains, mystic valleys, exuberating green landscapes and spectacular mountain rivers, the Himalayan kingdom prepares itself in order to receive visitors with world first class casinos that include avant-garde technological equipments.

The representative of the Tourism Department in Sikkim, Sr. Upadhyaya says: “The project will surely end this year. The legalization of casinos resulted in an increase in the tourism section. The state can expect to come across tourists that will not hesitate to spend large amounts of money in one go.”

The state, who will be receiving the generous sum of 25% of the total made in casinos, has approved the installation of the Park Sarovar Plaza Hotel group, in order to build five star hotels in Gangtok. The general manager of the Royal Plaza in Sikkim, Pankaj Saxena says: “We are extremely excited with this project.”

Strict norms have been laid down regarding the opening of state casinos. Those who wish to open them must have five star installations and infrastructures. The Royal Plaza, which is in Gangtok and is currently a four star hotel, is being upgraded in order to become a five star hotel and in result obey the norms that have been established.
